    Birders generally use an 8x42 binocular, but your question is a loaded one, and might be better answered in a phone conversation, rather than trying to give you a short answer here. As an eyeglass wearer, you'll want to look for a binocular with a minimum of 15mm of eye relief. Waterproofing is pretty much standard with most good quality binoculars nowadays, but check the specs to make sure before you purchase.

    Once I know your budget, I'd be happy to make some recommendations of binocular models to consider.
