Kowa's New iPhone Photo Adapter

You've probably seen some examples of smartphone photo capability. The photos are surprisingly good, right?  So it stands to reason that smartphones could, and should be used for digiscoping. Actually, people have been hand-holding their smartphones in front of binocular and scope lenses for awhile now, with some amazing results. Take this photojournalist's recent photoblog from the London Olympics as a prime example: Dan Chung's smartphone Olympics. And Sharon Stiteler, well-known birding blogger (better know as Birdchick) used her iPhone to take some of the pics in her recent blog entry.

Have an iPhone 4/4S? Want to get on the bandwagon, and start taking digiscoped photos with it?  Kowa has just made it so much easier with its new TSN IP4S iPhone 4/4S Digiscoping Bracket. This is an ingenious little device that holds your iPhone, and with 2 interchangeable rings, you can position it securely over the eyepiece of a scope or binocular. It is made to fit most Kowa optics, of course, but it fits others, too. We already know this adapter will work with the iPhone 4/4S and the Kowa 77/88mm zoom eyepieces, Swarovski ATS/ATM zoom eyepieces, Zeiss 15-45/20-60x zoom eyepiece, and Vortex Razor HD zoom eyepiece. Cool, huh? Measure the diameter of your scope or binocular eyepiece, then check the measurement of the rings here. If you have questions, give us a call.

Digiscoping with your phone. Who knew? The Kowa TSN IP4S iPhone 4/4S Digiscoping Bracket takes the shakes out of hand-holding. Think about the convenience of leaving your bigger camera at home.  And just under $60--bravo, Kowa!

  1. Hi, I spoke to one of your customer service reps about 3 weeks ago re: an iPhone adapter that would fit the Kowa 20-60X eyepiece on my TSN 663. He indicated that one was expected about the end of September. Any news yet? Ann Walker
