Swarovski's Digiscoping Olympics

Have you found yourself staying up late to watch the Olympic games? I certainly found it easy to be enveloped by the human drama and striking images of athletic competition coming from China over the past week. I couldn't help but experience some of this same wonderment as I reviewed the winning digiscoped photographs from the past two years of Swarovski's Digiscoper of the Year Contest.

Just like the Olympics, Swarovski's contest attracts entries from all over the world. The first, second, and third place logo_doy_black08.jpgwinners receive Swarovski optical equipment. Another category of winners is the selection of national winners. Chosen from the five countries with the largest number of entrants, the five national winners will be paid for their photographs to be published in the Swarovski Optik Digiscoping Yearbook 2009. Last year's entries totaled over 2000 photos from 38 countries.

The deadline for this year's contest is September 30th---still plenty of time for the Team USA Digiscopers to submit their entries. The winners are announced at the end of October. Phone calls to Eagle Optics indicate there are plenty of digiscopers out there. Send in those photos and let's win one for the USA!
