Fun Things To Do

Nature lovers who have had the opportunity to attend a birding and wildlife festival know how much fun they are and the extensive information available at these great events. Eagle Optics is proud to be on location at events in 11 states this year.digi contest photo.jpg If you missed the 11th Annual Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival this past January, you can still enjoy some of the sights by visiting our Digiscoping Challenge website. Sponsored by Eagle Optics and Swarovski Optik, the contest page features digiscoped photographs taken by participants at workshop and field trip locations.

The photographs vary from Florida Alligators to Wood Storks. As you savor the beauty of this wildlife, you can vote for your favorite photo by ranking it on a scale of one to five stars. Take a look at the variety of species captured during this terrific birding and wildlife festival. Call us for information on how to start digiscoping or for festival suggestions.

After you've had time to appreciate the Digiscoping Challenge, treat yourself to the owl camera operated by the California State University at Bakersfield Computer Science Department. The Great Horned Owl has hatched two eggs while keeping me company from the corner of my computer screen. CSUB's owlcam is a marvelous way to catch glimpses into the wonder of nature while hard at work. This mama owl has also motivated me to get out and see for myself what the owls in Wisconsin are up to.
